Game Modes

Eight drills. Every street.

PokerSharp isn’t one drill with a skin on it. Each mode isolates a different skill — the ranges you open, the flops you c-bet, the equity you’re pricing, the winner you have to spot in two seconds — and grades you against a real solved answer.

Preflop Drills

The backbone of the app. A real spot is dealt — your seat, the action in front of you, a hand — and you pick fold, call, or raise. Then the app shows you what the solver actually does with that hand, how much EV your answer cost, and why.

How it plays
  • Random spots across 8 scenario types: opening, defending in position, blind defense, facing a 3-bet, squeezing, facing a 4-bet, and facing a squeeze.
  • Choose 6-max or 9-max from the main menu — separate solved ranges for every seat at each table size.
  • Funnel filter to drill one scenario type until it’s automatic.
  • Every hand is saved to your local history for later analysis.
What you get back
  • The solver’s exact fold / call / raise mix for your hand in that spot.
  • EV in big blinds for each action, so a mistake has a price tag.
  • The full 13×13 range grid colour-coded by action — see your hand in context.
  • A tap-to-expand coach card: the reasoning, the alternative line, and the trap to watch for.

Flop Drills

NEW

Preflop is the easy half. Flop Drills put you on a real solved board with a real solved range and ask the question that actually decides pots: do you bet, how much, and what do you do when they raise? Tap FLOP in the Train header and the drill switches streets.

How it plays
  • Twelve genuine preflop lines carried forward — six at each table size, four single-raised pots and two 3-bet pots apiece. At 6-max: BTN vs BB, CO vs BB, UTG vs BB, CO vs BTN, plus SB vs BTN and BTN vs CO 3-bet pots. At 9-max the same shape with SB vs BB in place of CO vs BTN — solved at 9-max prices, not 6-max numbers reused.
  • Preflop + Flop by default: the hand starts where a real one does. You play the preflop decision on that line and get the full range breakdown for it — frequencies, EVs, the 13×13 grid — then the flop comes down and the graded flop decision follows. Prefer to skip straight to the flop? One tap in the funnel.
  • The table replays the actual preflop action before the flop lands, so you always know how the pot got here.
  • Four decision types in rotation: c-betting, facing a c-bet, facing a raise, and stabbing after a check.
  • Boards are drawn by how often they truly come off the deck — you’ll see the flops you actually get, not a highlight reel.
What you get back
  • The solver’s real action frequencies at that node — check, bet 33%, bet 75%, raise, call, fold, or jam.
  • Real per-hand EVs and the exact EV your answer gave up, in big blinds.
  • A 13×13 flop strategy grid for the whole range at that node — not just your hand.
  • Postflop coach copy tailored to your made hand and draws.

Live

Live Cash Game

A real 6-max or 9-max cash game against bots with actual personalities — preflop to river, your stack on the line. This is where the drills get tested: they’re building reads on you while you build them back.

The opponents
  • Four archetypes at the table: the disciplined TAG, the relentless LAG, the calling station who can’t fold, and the nit who folds too much.
  • The regs track your VPIP, PFR, 3-bet and aggression, and after roughly 20 hands they start adjusting to exploit you. The recreational players barely notice — same as real life.
  • Tap the session header for your Table Image: the exact read the bots have built on you, and which archetype you’re playing like.
The coaching
  • Every preflop action gets an instant GTO feedback bar — the solver’s mix for your hand, flashed before the next card.
  • Preflop raise sizes are locked to the solved bet tree (one tap, correct size). Postflop, the slider is yours.
  • After the hand, Coach Review replays your line and flags the classic leaks: chasing without odds, paying off a four-flush, bluffing a station, missing thin value.
  • Rabbit-hunt the runout, see every seat’s cards, and get a session recap when you cash out.

Board Reading

Two cards, five on the board — what do you actually have? Pick your hand ranking from the wheel as fast as you can. Misreading your own hand is the most expensive beginner leak there is, and the cure is pure repetition.

How it plays
  • All nine hand rankings, from high card to straight flush.
  • Spin the ranking wheel and lock in — the clock is running.
What you get back
  • Your best five cards glow on the felt so you see exactly what you missed.
  • Running accuracy and streak, tracked across the session.

Showdown

Three players, one board, one winner. Pick it. This is the skill that keeps you from calling a river shove with the second nuts — or folding the actual nuts because you didn’t see the counterfeit.

How it plays
  • Three face-up hands share a full board — tap the winner.
  • Kickers, counterfeits, and playing-the-board all show up.
What you get back
  • The winning five cards are highlighted immediately.
  • Accuracy and streak tracked per session.

Equity

Equity Training

Everything about knowing your number lives here. Three question types rotate, all multiple choice, all graded against the exact figure — computed on the spot, not looked up from a table.

The three questions
  • Estimate % — your hand against one to three face-up opponents on a preflop, flop, or turn board. The answer pills are spaced so a correct pick means you were within a few points of the true equity.
  • Count outs — how many cards actually improve you, with the near-misses as distractors.
  • Outs → equity — convert with the rule of 2 and 4, including the adjustment big draws need.
What you get back
  • Your pick versus the real number on a side-by-side bar, plus every seat’s true equity revealed on the felt.
  • A full “why is my equity X%?” breakdown: who’s ahead right now, which turn cards flip it, and the matchup archetype you’re in (overpair, coin flip, domination).
  • Filter by question type, opponent count, and street.

Pot Odds

A villain fires into your draw. Two buttons. Is the price right? Untimed, but the clock is watching — beat 2.5 seconds with the right answer and you get the FAST! banner.

How it plays
  • Real draw spots — gutshots, open-enders, flush draws, combo draws, overcards, set-mines.
  • Two flavours: a turn bet (one card to come) and a flop all-in (two cards), so you learn when the rule of 2 applies and when it’s the rule of 4.
  • Every spot is verified by an independent out-counter before it’s dealt — the math is never hand-waved.
What you get back
  • A four-line walk-through of this exact hand: your draw and outs → your equity → the price you’re being laid → the verdict.
  • Underlined terms tap straight into the built-in Poker Guide, so the theory is one tap away instead of repeated in every result.
  • Your average decision time is tracked alongside accuracy.

Custom

Custom Scenarios

Random drilling is great until you’re stuck on one specific spot. Custom lets you build it: pick the seat, the action, the opponent, and the exact two cards — then play it and get the same full solver breakdown as a random hand.

How it plays
  • Choose your position and the villain’s, the action type (open, defend, face a 3-bet), and your exact hole cards.
  • Play the spot out with the normal table animation and action buttons.
What it’s for
  • Re-running the hand from last night that you’re still not sure about.
  • Testing a boundary — is KTo really an open from the cutoff? — and getting the frequency, not an opinion.

Hand History & Analytics

Every training hand is saved on your device. Filter by position, scenario, mode or result; watch accuracy trend over time; and read the 13×13 heatmap that shows which hands are quietly costing you the most.

Cloud Backup
NEW

Optional, and off until you turn it on. Connect a Google account and your hand history and settings are kept in a hidden, app-private folder of your own Google Drive — so a second phone picks up where the first left off. The app asks for one narrow permission that can only see the folder it creates for itself; it cannot read anything else in your Drive, and we never receive a copy. Prefer no cloud at all? Export your history to a file instead.

X-Ray Replay
PRO

Step through any completed cash hand with every seat face-up, live win-equity recalculated at each action, a scrubbable timeline, and playback up to 10×. The clearest way to understand why a hand went the way it did.

Poker Guide

A built-in reference for hand rankings, positions, betting actions, pot odds and equity, and the vocabulary. Results across the app deep link straight into the relevant section instead of repeating theory in every panel.

Guided Tours

First time in a mode, a coach walks you through the screen one spotlight at a time — what each control does and what the numbers mean. Re-runnable any time from the header, skippable in one tap.

Built For How You Play

Four-colour deck, left-handed layout, four animation speeds (including off, for pure speed drilling), text scaling, and reduce-motion support. Phones and tablets, portrait and landscape.

Every mode is free.

Nothing on this page is locked behind a subscription. PokerSharp Pro removes the ads and the chip meter and adds X-Ray Replay and the Fold Skipper — the training itself is yours either way.
